NICO at Home with Lahni

How did you enjoy creating the NICO at Home content?
I absolutely love creating for aligned brands. NICO is one of those ones where as soon as you open the package you think: "How have I not known about this brand for so long?!" Honestly it was fun - the type of content that just flows.

What does self-care look like for you?
It’s evolved so much in my journey from maiden to mother to now mother of 4. But simple natural skincare, dry brushing and 10 minutes on my vibration plate always brings me back into my body and grounds me. Sometimes the simplest practices are the most profound.

How does sustainability play a role in your daily routines?
It’s always at the forefront of my decisions. We talk about it a lot as a family and my kids just know. It’s their norm to choose sustainable options and they know why and it’s not like they’re needing to unlearn - it becomes their default.

Your sense of style seems very earthy and natural. How does fashion play into your self-expression, and what are your wardrobe essentials?
I love fashion and clothes and have always made a lot of my own pieces but since becoming a mum, I’m 100% for comfort over anything so I choose brands that are both comfortable and natural/sustainable and ethically made. I have a simple wardrobe that is made up of a handful of quality brands and I tend to find a lot of gems on Depop.

But I love stretchy natural fibres and plant-dyed clothes are my fav.

How has your fashion evolved over time, and how does it intersect with your life as a mum?
I used to be very extreme in my fashion. A lot of black and shock value when I was finding myself as a teen.

I feel like becoming a mum was the moment that who I was and my values became really clear, and a lot of the masks, I guess, I was wearing through clothing and make up, etc, fell away. I’ve never really followed fashion trends or fast fashion but I do notice the difference in how I feel when I put on nice clothes so I try to find pieces that feel easy and sensual an allow me to flow through my days.

What is one thing you can't live without?
My kids!!!

If we’re talking clothes… probably my indigo Luna Agni pants. Ever since my first pair, they’ve been almost an everyday wear. And, also, I’ve never been much of a bra wearer but these wirefree bras from NICO have become a new favourite.
